第2ペンギン荘 表札 Design & Paint Nameplate for Shared house
長野県松本市浅間温泉にあるシェアハウス「第2ペンギン荘」の表札のデザイン及び制作をしました。
I designed and painted a logo for a nameplate of the shared house “Dai 2 Penguin sou” in Asama onsen, Matsumoto, Japan.
浅間温泉はその名の通り温泉街で、旅館の他にも地元住民専用の共同浴場があったりする、なかなか趣きある所です。その昔、松本城のお殿様もお湯に浸かりに来ていた歴史があり、今でも古い建物が残っています。第2ペンギン荘の建物もかつては芸者さんの下宿として使われていたものです。
Asama onsen is a historic hot spring area where lords of Matsumoto-castle used to visit and take baths a long time ago. A lot of old buildings still remain there and the shared house “Dai 2 Penguin sou” is also one of them.

「ペンギン」からイメージを広げてデザインしたこの表札は、かまぼこ板にアクリル絵の具で着色し、ニスを塗って仕上げました。
As the name of “Dai 2 Penguin sou”, the nameplate was designed with a motif of a penguin. Letters written in the penguin’s belly say “Dai 2 Penguin sou”. I painted the logo on a wood board with acrylic paint and coated it with varnish.
