干支版画 2022 寅年 Print of Tiger
2022年的干支是寅虎。我在台灣旅行的時候，在虎尾鎮看了真美好的夕陽。那記憶讓我彫這木版畫。
I made the print for a New Year’s card for the year 2022.
In the Japanese Zodiac, there are twelve animal signs used as symbols for each year and 2022 is the year of the Tiger . It’s very common to exchange New Year’s cards in Japan, and traditionally the design of the cards is based on the animal sign of the year, so I made this print for New Year’s card 2022.
When I traveled in Taiwan, I saw amazing sunset colors at the place called Huwei which literally means “tiger tail”. This memory brought me the idea of the design of this wood block print.
2022年寅年の年賀状に合わせて版画を彫りました。台湾を自転車で旅した時、虎尾という所で空一面が一気にピンク色に変わり、美しい夕焼けを目にしました。その時の事を思い出しながらこの木版画を彫りました。
